Jordyn and Aedyn are truly special people. Our journey began when they entered my wedding photography giveaway early in 2025. Their friends and family rallied around them, submitting entries on their behalf—and by what felt like divine design, Aedyn’s sister was the one randomly chosen for the biggest discount. It turned into a full-family celebration, and for me as a wedding photographer, it was one of those moments that remind you how meaningful this work can be.
After meeting on a video call and hearing their story, I couldn’t wait to be part of their wedding in Nevada City, California. This charming Northern California town, surrounded by tall trees and rolling hills, was the perfect backdrop for their outdoor celebration at The
Schrammsberg Estate.
In the days leading up to the wedding, I stayed in an Airbnb with Aedyn’s family—something I don’t always do, but it made this experience even more personal. They welcomed me like one of their own, sharing childhood stories and laughter.
The evening before the wedding, they hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner that turned into a heartfelt open mic. Friends and family shared stories, tears, and prayers—setting the tone for a deeply emotional weekend.
Their wedding day in Nevada City was the kind of day that reminds you why you love photographing weddings. It was beautifully imperfect, full of laughter, joy, and connection. Jordyn and Aedyn shared a first look and then we went to take portraits at the historic National Exchange Hotel, which gave them time to soak in the day together before the ceremony.
Their ceremony overlooked a serene blue pond surrounded by tall evergreens, and as the sun dipped below the horizon, the reception came alive under string lights. Guests danced the night away, froyo cups in hand, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and music. The streamer send-off was a photographer’s dream—chaotic, alive, and full of emotion.
When I look back on their wedding gallery, I smile, remembering how it felt to be there—not just as their photographer, but as a friend. This day was led completely by heart, and it’s one I’ll never forget.
