I’ve always been drawn to Oregon’s breathtaking landscapes—the towering evergreens, misty coastlines, rolling farmlands, and endless natural beauty. Coming from the relatively flat and urban Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area, stepping into Oregon felt like I had been transported to another world. The moment our plane touched down, I was reminded why this state holds a special place in my heart.
When Hannah first reached out to me about photographing her wedding, she mistakenly thought I was based in Portland, Oregon. But some mistakes lead to incredible opportunities, and this was certainly one of them! When I told her I was actually a destination wedding photographer, she was still excited to bring me along for her special day. From that moment, I knew this wedding was going to be something truly special.
Hannah and Joe envisioned an intimate wedding surrounded by the peaceful farmlands of Oregon, a place they both hold close to their hearts. They chose to get ready at a family friend’s home, a charming house nestled within a Christmas tree farm. The setting couldn’t have been more magical—the scent of pine filling the crisp air, golden sunlight filtering through the trees, and the gentle sounds of nature surrounding us.
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms. The warmth of their family and friends made it easy to capture every moment authentically. Some weddings have an atmosphere that instantly feels like home, and this was one of them. Hannah and Joe are deeply rooted in family traditions, and their guest list reflected that. Every person in attendance had played a significant role in their love story, making the celebration all the more meaningful.
Hannah chose a location with deep personal significance for their ceremony—a spot she had walked by countless times with her dogs, a beloved town landmark filled with history. This decision reflected something I admire most in brides like her—those who prioritize meaning over aesthetics. While many couples choose locations based on how they’ll look on Instagram, Hannah and Joe focused on what would matter 20 years from now.
They knew that when they look back at their wedding photos, it wouldn’t be about how trendy the venue was but about the memories, emotions, and significance of the place where they exchanged their vows. That kind of intentionality in wedding planning is something I deeply appreciate and love to document.
As a destination wedding photographer specializing in intimate celebrations, Hannah and Joe’s wedding was the perfect blend of personal, meaningful, and picturesque—everything I love to capture. The day felt effortless, natural, and filled with emotion, which is exactly what I strive for in my photography.
After their beautiful wedding, I took some time to explore more of Oregon’s incredible landscapes—its state parks, rugged coastline, and lush forests. Every turn reminded me why I can’t wait to return. Oregon has a way of weaving itself into your soul, and photographing a love story in such a stunning setting only made my connection to it even stronger.
